Tips for nice and comfortable flight

Layovers are a part of international travel. But that doesn’t mean your time should be spent sitting at the gate. I had a long journey a few days ago from Sofia to NYC via Doha. We missed our first connection flight to JFK airport as we were on standby, so we had to wait 7 hours more for the next flight.
Today I will give you some ideas how to spend your time at Hamad International Airport (HIA) in Doha, Qatar.

Less than 1 hour
Pick up all your duty-free essentials from Qatar Duty Free, which also has express shops near the gates. If you wish to relax, Oryx Lounge offers comfort with superior hospitality, food&beverage services, a smoking room, business centre, quiet zone, free Wi-fi and gaming room for kids.

1-2 hours
Eat Street is a place where you can try food from all over the world or IN-Q Cafe, where you can taste delicious baked goods, healthy food and have a nice cup of coffee. You can also see the seven-metre centerpiece Lamp Bear. You can also have an express blow-dry or manicure at Nails, located inside the Blush boutique.

2-4 hours
Qatar Duty Free’s area offers access to top internation brands such as – GMT, Pulse, Junction, Esquire, Hermes, Bulgari ad Chopard.

4-6 hours
A perfect amount of time to enjoy a sit-down meal. You can try Qataf Cafe which serves traditional Arabian cuisine, Soprafino for Italian-style dining, Le Grand Comptoir, a French-style dining and Caviar House&Prunier Seafood Bar where everything is freshly prepared in fron of the guests.

6-8 hours
There is an four-star Airport Hotel for stays from 5 to 8 hours. There is also Vitality Wellbeing&Fitness Centre with a swimming pool, gymnasium and a spa.

More than 8 hours

Seeing the wonders of Qatar itself is the best way to spend an extend layover! There is a three-hour bus tour of Doha’s major attractions including Museum of Islamic Art, the Corniche, West Bay area, Katara Cultural and Heritage Village and The Pearl-Qatar.
